“Mobile Five Senses Dim Sum Restaurant” for Elders
Hong Kong, 14 November 2025 – Zonta Club of Hong Kong East sponsored the 流動五感大茶樓 organized by The Project Futurus on 8 November 2025 at Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Sunny Lodge in Wong Chuk Hang.
The 3-hour event brought joy to 48 frail elders with dementia, many struggling with poor appetite and swallowing difficulties. 28 Zonta HKE members dressed as waiters, hostesses, and assistant chefs served soft-textured dim sum (軟餐) — pureed siu mai, minced har gow, silky red bean soup — tailored to chewing needs, alongside fragrant teas and nostalgic Cantonese tunes.
Elders lit up with smiles, chatted animatedly, and swayed to music, while members pushed dim sum carts, took Polaroid photos, and shared warm interactions. Both elders and members had a delightful time, creating cherished memories through sensory stimulation and heartfelt connections.
