A highly informational roving exhibition and symposium was organised by the Zonta Club of HK East to support ‘Zonta Says No to Child Marriage’ over Dec and Jan 2019. This advocacy project supported Zonta International’s biennium themes and brought awareness of the problems of child marriage and violence to women to the local community. The project was well attended and convinced all participants that actions are needed to counter these issues.
Zonta Club of Hong Kong East jointly organised an advocacy project which included a 5-location roving exhibition and a keynote symposium over 2 months. We displayed relevant statistics and panels of impressive photos to reveal the fact and the seriousness of these problems. People at the exhibition and symposium were able to see and learn how prevalent the problems are and how long term damages to women’ lives were caused by them. The symposium boosted 4 prominent speakers, including Zonta District Governor for District 17 and representatives for NGOs who focus on child marriage and teen-pregnancy.
