Following the findings from our previous research project about cyberbullying targeting the youth, the Advocacy Committee of Zonta Club of Hong Kong East, in collaboration with M21, has organised a series of popular workshop at 3 primary and 4 secondary schools on “Say No to Cyberbullying“.
Through interactive Q&A and games based on examples showcased on microfilm, students learned not only how to identify harmful behaviours of cyberbullying, but also to get psychological preparedness and respond assertively when encountering cyberbullying. Most importantly, they were reminded of seeking immediate help from family and teachers and offer support to peers by standing up to cyberbullies. Upon completion of workshops, participants took home the dos and don’ts with confidence and reflected on how to be sensible, responsible cyber citizens.
With the objectives to raise wider awareness on the subject, a campaign of “Say No to Cyberbullying” will be launched in early 2023 with a video competition for the youth – please stay tuned, watch out the space and work together to be a pioneer of responsible cyber citizens!
